Learn practices and create connections that will continue through your postpartum recovery.

The Spring 2019 Immersion is for expectant mothers due in March, April and May 2019, who want to honor the wonder of pregnancy and prepare for the sacred passage into motherhood.

No matter where you are in your pregnancy, chances are you're intuitively drawn to taking especially good care of yourself, and you've probably already made some changes that are helping you enjoy your pregnancy. You want have your baby in a healthy way, maybe even a natural childbirth, though you might not be sure yet. Whether it's your first time or you're an experienced mom, each pregnancy is different, and you may feel some nervousness.

For sure, you have hopes that everything is going to go smoothly. You want as much ease in pregnancy as possible, and you want to feel calm, strong and confident mentally and physically about giving birth.  And naturally, you want to feel connected to your partner.

Aiming for perfect is not fulfilling.

But in your quest to have the "perfect" pregnancy and birth, Google has become your doctor/best friend/ support group, and you're left feeling unfulfilled. Then, there are the birth stories you've heard, all of which you hope are the exact opposite of how yours will unfold.

You're starting to doubt if you can actually do this birthing and motherhood thing, and you haven't found a reliable means of getting out of your downward-spiraling dread.

Finally, there's the beloved partner who is still wonderful--but why does he or she seem so disinterested and uninvolved? YOU get the significance of bearing a child and all the responsibility it's going to bring. Why do you have to carry that weight for the two of you?

The secret to an empowered pregnancy and birth --

one where your hopes and dreams for your birth and life with baby are heard, one where your fears are safely supported, and one where you have the calm confidence to allow spirit to carry you the rest of the way

-- is to first allow yourself some space to breathe and listen.

How The 4-month Immersion Will Work

Your experience of being supported will begin as soon as you enroll. You will receive access to certain pieces right away, and other aspects of the experience will be released over time. Here's what we'll do from late February - early June.

  • You'll get immediate access to the in-depth, 9-week online course "Empowered Birth & Postpartum Recovery". This is a significant part of your experience.

  • We will meet for a 1-hour welcome session on Thursday, Feb. 28 in the evening in the Cranford/Westfield, NJ area.

  • We will meet once a month in March, April and May and June for a 1.5 hour rejuvenating yoga practice and intimate discussion in the Cranford/Westfield, NJ area. Exact dates to be determined by the group.

  • We will connect virtually once a month on a group video call for discussion, Q&A, coaching support, and even some meditation from your comfy couch.

  • You will have access to a private Facebook Group in order to stay connected to each other in between sessions. Some special guest speakers will also be invited to share insights and answers to your questions on Facebook Lives.

  • Most likely, you will have your baby during one of the months of the immersion, and you will still be "in the circle". The group's support of you will remain constant, and as every mother has her baby, the focus of our monthly practices and virtual sessions will evolve toward your postpartum care and repair.

How This Immersion Will Support You

In addition to flowing through rejuvenating prenatal yoga practices and even getting in some essential partner stretches and massages you can take home to your partner, we'll be exploring important topics that will get you thinking. You are invited to come with your questions, your concerns, your fears and uncertainties.

During the immersion you'll gather valuable information and tools for living a healthy pregnancy and designing your intended birth experience in a way that feels true to you and your deepest desires.

In addition to having time to simply slow down and nurture yourself, you will learn and experience:

  • What "conscious pregnancy" and "conscious birth" are, and how you can use these concepts to take an active role in improving your birth outcome and postpartum wellness, and also to keep your connection to your partner flourishing.

  • Eight essential yoga-based practices you can do at home to stay energetic and grounded through pregnancy, so you can feel good no matter how hectic your life gets before the baby arrives.

  • Why love is physiologically and emotionally the most important quality you can "plug in" to that will help you birth your baby--including recorded meditations for increasing loving-kindness and compassionate self-care and more.

  • Develop your own conscious birth plan, and learn how to effectively share it with your doctor and birth team so your intentions are honored.

  • The seven best natural birth labor coping techniques to help you (and your partner) stay calm during labor so you don't have to get medication unnecessarily.

  • How to plan for speedy postpartum recovery--a holistic "what to expect" and what you can do in advance to prepare for a smooth transition.

And these are just the tangible takeaways I hope you'll get. You'll have to just experience the rest to see what benefits you reap as a result of taking this precious time to nurture yourself in community with other expectant mamas.

What Others Have Said About Working With Nicole

“Regardless of what comes for me in my birth, after this experience, I have complete certainty in my preparation and my ability to birth successfully, peacefully and even with a sense of ecstasy. If you are seeking an empowered birth process, a calm inner state and a reconnection to trust in our own powerful ability to positively birth our children, I recommend you start this course now!”

Crystal

“Thank you for your guidance, the program, and giving me some context to go further with my practice--I do feel the course study, the yoga and chakra practices, the many park walks and meditation, the additional readings were really essential to give me the confidence and optimism to try my best. -- Marinela”

Marinela

“In my experience, most expecting mothers don't really prepare for birth because either they don't think it is necessary or they don't have time. However, this course has taught me the importance of how to prioritize yourself and take the time to truly turn inwards during pregnancy, birth and post-partum. I highly recommend it!”

Shona

“I just wanted to let you know that if it wasn't for your course and support I don't know if I would have switched doctors despite feeling uncomfortable with my first doctor. Your support really made me take initiative and not accept the lack of attention from the doctor's office. Also the yoga breathing definitely got me through the contractions and visualizing the delivery over and over again.”

Michelle

“There are very few people in life who can inspire us and I am proud to say that I had you as my friend/mentor and my yoga guru during the most difficult phase of my life. Many, many thanks.”

Sushma

“Nicole, thank you so much for everything you do for mothers and mothers-to-be. You have taught us all so much you empower us with your education. I've used so much of your advice...I asked the right questions which helped me make decisions that I was comfortable with. I learned so much more with my second pregnancy than my first and that's because I had your guidance. Thank you for all you do for us mothers!”
